Look for a hotel close to a light-rail stop or a frequent bus route, then test the journey to the specific attractions you want. 'Near public transport' can still mean a long walk or a poor evening service.

Check the exact hotel's drive or transport time to the airport at your departure hour. A nearby suburb name alone does not tell you whether a bus is running then.

For outdoor space, check whether it belongs to your room, is a shared terrace or is simply a courtyard. Photos and room-category names are easy to misread.

Choose the area by your actual itinerary and whether you will have a car. A central base can simplify meals and city outings; an outer base may suit repeated visits elsewhere, but check travel time in both directions.

If a freshly cooked breakfast matters, check the current menu and serving hours directly with the property. A nearby café can be a better fit than buying a hotel package whose details are unclear.
