Perched on the 7th floor of the Burbury Hotel, Leyla Bar catches the breeze across Lake Burley Griffin with sweeping views over Parliament House. Barton office workers slip up here at dusk to decompress by the massive open-panel glass windows. Snag a high stool and lean into an aperitivo spread of charred octopus skewers, prawn toast, and beef tartare. Patrons point to the Italian-inspired Sgroppino when the golden-hour light reflects off the lake—crisp, refreshing, and served without pretense.

We were lucky to be seated by the open window, and the gentle breeze coming through with that stunning view made the whole experience feel extra special.

The dedicated catering platters, skyline backdrops, and accommodating event coordination make the space well-suited for group birthdays and milestones.
Platters were beautifully presented and tasty $300 for 20 pers. My guests bought their own drinks (not sure how much was spent). Cocktails were exquisite. We had booking 7-8.45pm but they allowed us to stay longer.
